In Revelation, Jesus is a prize fighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His mouth and the commitment to make someone bleed. That is a guy I can worship.
so why does the world, the media, and most importantly the church portray Jesus as a pacifistic pansy? Some cross dressing transvestite? every image you see of Him is some "guy" with long flowing hair, rosie cheeks behind a well groomed beard, a smile, with children and women around him (I know Jesus calls children to him, Jesus loves the little children etc...).
The church likes to portray Jesus as either a newborn baby or a peaceful man who never does anything out of character, or at least the character we expect Him to portray. Even on Sunday mornings what does the typical service look like? You walk into a building decorated beautifully by a woman most likely, with pretty pink walls and flowers everywhere. The service starts and we hug everyone and tell them we love them and Jesus loves them too. We scream that God is Good! But be careful not to get to excited about Jesus, that excitement is saved for the sporting event after church, (yes I am the most guilty) then after we greet everyone then we go to Prom. We sing Prom songs to Jesus, like He is our date.
Then we listen to someone paint the picture of who Jesus is or was. Lets make sure we use words like Love, Gentle, peace, kindness, patience, and every other word we can think of to describe a soft, wimpy, spineless person. But please make sure we leave out the fact that the main reason Jesus came to this Earth was to Die a Bloody, Painful, Miserable, Excruciating Death on a Cross. After accomplishing that lets not forget Jesus is coming back to Kill Satan, yes Jesus is going to Kill someone, it's in the Bible.
Maybe when we describe Jesus we should use words like Warrior, Man, King, Soldier, Fighter.
The God I chose to worship and believe in is someone that I would want to have fear for, not someone I know I could beat up.
Sorry if I offended anyone, but maybe as a country of "God fearing people" we should probably make Jesus someone who is worry of fear not sympathy.
